WEBINAR Unlock Your Child's Potential & Making Learning Fun: 5 Easy Games to Teach Skills Through ABA

Struggling to teach your child important skills at home? You're not alone — and it doesn't have to be stressful. ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy is a powerful tool for skill-building, but it doesn’t always require formal sessions or complex materials. In fact, some of the best learning happens during play!

In our recent parent training webinar, “5 Fun and Easy Games to Teach Important Skills,” we shared how families can turn everyday moments into skill-building opportunities. This blog will give you a sneak peek into what we covered — and how you can start using these strategies today.

💡 Why Use ABA-Based Games at Home?

ABA therapy focuses on teaching meaningful, functional skills in ways that are measurable and effective. But when you’re a busy parent, you need tools that are both practical and enjoyable. Games that are rooted in ABA principles can help children:

  • Improve communication and social interaction

  • Build focus, attention, and turn-taking

  • Develop independence in daily routines

  • Strengthen relationships through positive engagement

The best part? You don’t need fancy toys or hours of prep time — just consistency, encouragement, and a willingness to have a little fun.

🎲 Game 1: “Follow the Leader” – Promoting Energy regulation & Coordination

🧠Game 4: “Matching” – Memory & Cognitive

What It Teaches: Match-to-sample, problem solving, critical thinking, and attending. How to Play: Matching is fun and interactive and involves exactly what the name states- matching items.

📚 Game 5: “Story Time” – Promoting Social & Communication

What It Teaches: Social interaction, collaboration, imagination, communication, and verbalization. How to Play: Read a story while discussing what is happening, predicting what will happen next, etc.

💬 Final Thoughts: You Can Teach Meaningful Skills at Home and Unlock Your Child's Potential

Teaching important life skills doesn’t have to feel like a chore — it can happen in everyday moments filled with laughter, connection, and creativity. These 5 games are just a starting point that unlock your child's potential. When you blend ABA strategies into your family’s daily life, you’re not just teaching skills — you’re building a stronger relationship with your child.
