Consultations

Therapy

For those clients whose needs do not fit into our other models and providers/educational professionals who require assessments, we do offer an ABA therapy consultation service. Our consultation service can be used on an hourly basis with one of our behavior analysts as a provider.

For families

Often a consultation service is a parent training program. The BCBA meets with the parent to discuss concerns and assess the client,  and then is guided to employ a behavior plan in the home. The BCBA and parent would discuss the further guidance and support needed and create a schedule for follow-ups and check-ins.

For professionals

This service can also be used for one of our behavior analysts to attend ARD meetings, assist with FBA's, and/or assist with assessing an individual's needs and creating a plan of care.

What happens at a consultation?

We’ll start by learning more about the individual, their family, their household, and/or school setting.  We also discuss day-to-day issues, review handouts explaining ABA principles, and talk about goals. We'll we’ll ask key questions and conduct assessments that will help us design an individualized treatment and/or behavior plan that will best fit the client and all involved.

  • How can we make your day-to-day easier?

  • What behaviors can we work on to strengthen your relationship between you and your child?

  • What can we do to help your child meet goals like making friends and being independent?

The initial goal is to cover six general ABA topics as an overview and then focus the discussion on the client’s specific needs.  Parents and caregivers/professionals will walk away with a better understanding of the following:

  • ABA therapy overview:  What it is and how it is helpful
  • How to identify target behaviors for the child

  • How to navigate a behavior plan
