Parent Training
Parenting a neurodiverse child is a journey filled with questions, challenges—and deep
love. At times, it can feel overwhelming trying to manage behaviors, build routines, and
support your child’s development without enough guidance.
That’s where we come in.
Our ABA-based parent training program is designed to give you the tools, confidence,
and support you need to help your child thrive at home, at school, and in everyday life.
💡 What Is ABA Parent Training?
ABA parent training is one-on-one coaching for caregivers, grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Rather than simply observing therapy sessions, you’ll actively learn strategies to:
-
Understand the reasons behind your child’s behavior
-
Respond effectively to meltdowns or challenging moments
-
Encourage communication, independence, and daily living skills
-
Build positive routines and set clear, achievable expectations
-
Create consistency between home, school, and therapy environments
Whether you're brand new to ABA or already working with a BCBA, our training complements existing services—or stands alone as a powerful support system for families.
🧩 Personalized Coaching That Fits Your Family
Every family is unique—and your training should be too. That’s why we tailor our sessions to fit your goals, your routines, and your values. We start by learning about your child’s strengths and needs, then work with you to build a plan that works in real life.
Training may include:
-
Coaching sessions (in-person or virtual) with a BCBA
-
Behavior strategy planning and practice
-
Live modeling, role-playing, and feedback
-
Ongoing support between sessions (via phone, email, or video)
-
Tools like visual schedules, behavior charts, or social stories
We’re here to walk beside you—not just as professionals, but as partners who understand what it’s like to be in your shoes.
❤️ Why Parent Training Matters

Many parents tell us they feel more confident, less overwhelmed, and more connected with their child after completing our training.

Who Pays for Care in California
In California, healthcare insurance companies – and the health plans they offer – are regulated by the state and are required to provide coverage for behavioral health services for individuals 21 years of age or under, including coverage for treatment of conditions such as autism.
Benefits and coverage can vary and you still need to explore and understand the details of the specific coverage you have. If you have healthcare coverage through your employer, through Covered California or through some other arrangement, it’s important that you contact your insurance provider before beginning treatment to ensure you fully understand the specific coverage provided by your health plan.
ABA Services for your child may be available through your local regional center. Regional centers are affiliated with the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and in some cases can help coordinate access to state-funded behavioral treatment services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism and related conditions. To identify and contact your local Regional Center to determine if you qualify for state-funded services, visit https://www.dds.ca.gov/rc.
Our 1:1 ABA-Based Behavioral Health Treatment services are also available under a self-pay arrangement where parents, caregivers or others pay for services directly. Spectrum Optimal Care LLC also offers a sliding fee rate, based on poverty levels reported during the first quarter of every year. Select here to access the current sliding fee information.
🔍 Benefits to Private Pay Parent Training
Many families first hear about ABA through insurance. And while insurance-based programs provide valuable support, they often come with limitations:
-
✅ Strict eligibility or diagnosis requirements
-
✅ Long waitlists and approval delays
-
✅ Session time focused mostly on the child, not the family
-
✅ Minimal parent coaching or home-based strategies
Our private pay parent training offers a better way forward:
-
🌟 You don’t need a formal diagnosis to start.
-
📅 We work on your schedule, not insurance red tape.
-
❤️ More time is spent focused on your goals, your child, and your family’s values.
-
🔄 Flexible sessions available in-person or virtually.
Private pay services allow us to provide high-quality, customized support without cutting corners. The result? Faster progress, deeper understanding, and real-life changes that last.
